A beautiful vest from a beautiful friend

Yesterday Maureen popped over for a lovely visit and surprised me with this beautiful vest she made out of the Blue-faced Leicester wool!  She did an amazing job!!!!!

The BFL colourways Maureen used were Gabriola Green, Celestial Blue, Milk Chocolate, Ravishing Red, Midnight Song and Wildberries.  Initially when Maureen told me she was going to knit them all together I was a bit skeptical – so I was extra surprised to see how beautifully they all worked together!  I never imagined that would look so beautiful together!

The vest is a simple V-neck done in stocking stitch until the bottom 1-2″  where Maureen used Moss Stitch to give it a bit of added frilly flare.  Four skeins would be enough to finish this vest – but the 6 colours give it a much greater impact….now if only we could get Kaffe Fassett to take a look at this eh?

In fact, Kaffe Fassett has a scarf pattern for sock yarn that would be perfect to used up the balance of the yarn.

If you would like to knit up your own vest, buy 5 skeins and get the 6th one free until June 30th.

You can find the hand dye Blue-faced Leicester here http://www.indigomoonyarns.com/index.php?cPath=66&cart=8176f3463a6748b74e8d23fddbee43ae – mention code 62712 for your free skein…and free shipping …but just until the 30th.

Happy knitting…and shopping :)!
